Joining the VFW
Department Member-at-Large status is open to any eligible veteran, or to any eligible member of the U.S. Armed Forces on active duty.
VFW membership eligibility consists of three
criteria:

To become a member:
- Print and complete this application or download and print the better PDF version
- Attach copies of documentation proving your eligibility.
- Mail it to the address indicated below -- include a check or money order for $35.00 payable to "Veterans of Foreign Wars"
Where this application is received and processed prior to August 1, membership is credited to the current calendar year. Applications received after August 1 will be credited to the next year.
Members-at-Large may apply for transfer of membership to a local post at any time and may become a Life Member-at-Large by paying the proper fee when eligible.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars reserves the right to disapprove applications and to require further proof when it is necessary to prove eligibility.
